  What is a fraternity?
A fraternity is a group of men bound together by friendship, brotherhood, and common goals. The members that form the fraternity share their friendships, efforts, and knowledge. Together these members learn and grow and make the fraternity strong. Their common experience builds ties that lasts a lifetime. This forms a brotherhood amongst the members, developing strong and creative leadership which leads to success. We the brothers of Beta Omega Phi has always strived for excellence by living by our motto, "Prae Omnia Frateritas", meaning "Brotherhood Above All". Through living by our motto, Beta Omega Phi fraternity has created men of distinction, honor, and integrity since 1965.

Why should I join a fraternity? Joining a fraternity will help new students adjust to life in college and help build time management, scholastic, and interpersonal networking skills which will prove to be invaluable in their collegiate and professional lives.

What is rush? Rush is a week long event that provides an opportunity for undergraduate men to join one of the many fraternal organizations on the SDSU campus. The object of rush is to introduce rushees to the Greek community and to give them an opportunity to join a fraternity. This process ends when bids are extended, which is a formal invitation for rushees to become members of their organizations.

Are there any obligations by attending rush events? There are no obligations whatsoever by attending rush events. All rush functions are free, food and transportation are always provided.

If I am new on campus, shouldn’t I get my “feet on the ground” before I join a Fraternity? San Diego State University can be a large campus. The sooner you know more people, the more comfortable you will feel on campus. By joining a fraternity you might find adjusting to university life to be a lot easier.

What makes Beta Omega Phi different? Beta Omega Phi fraternity, INC. is recognized at San Diego State University as the FIRST Asian-American Interest Fraternity in the San Diego area. Throughout the many years of Beta Omega Phi's existence, the brotherhood has grown to be a diversified organization at SDSU, representing over several nations around the world, with an emphasis towards helping the San Diego and Asian communities. Beta Omega Phi intensifies the collegiate experience with our brotherhood events, service projects, and social events with our sister sororities, Sigma Phi Omega of SDSU and USC, and Kappa Zeta Phi of CSULA, as well as other organizations ranging from Southern and Northern California. Our purpose is to provide an environment where social activity and academic excellence are intertwined, resulting in strong-minded, well-rounded men of distinction, honor, and integrity.
